Mussoorie Tourist Place

Kempty Fall
Kempty falls is just placed at a distance of 15 kilometers from Mussoorie. It is surrounded by hills. The Kempty falls come down from an altitude of 4,500 ft and create five separate falls 40 ft each at this area. During the British period, the British make tea parties at this site. Hence the name come out as Camp-tea and became famous as Kempty. The water falls are kept open for the tourists from March to July.

Mussoorie Lake
The latest Mussoorie Lake is placed on the Dehradun road. The distance between the Mussoorie Lake and the Mussoorie town is only 6 kilo meter. This lake is made by the city board and the Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority. It is a popular picnic place for the locals and tourists as well. The place is also very attractive for its pedal boating.

Gun Hill
Gun Hill is the second highest point in the city. The peak is perched at an altitude of 2122 meters above the level of the sea. At the time of colonial epoch a gun was sited at this place and fired at mid-day to let the people know the exact time. Hence the area started calling "Gun Hill". From this point individuals can see the expanse of scenery in a single view and other Himalayan peaks too. People can take a 400 meter rope way to came at this location.

Municipal Garden
This is also one of the nearer places to the town where can be reached by a pony, rickshaw or car easily. It is sited at a distance of 3 kilometers. The garden is housed by bamboo trees and deodar trees. Before Municipal garden it was famous as Company Garden. At this place visitors can enjoy boating in a man made lake. The site is easily accessible on foot.

Van Chetna Kendra
It is surrounded by dense pine trees and colorful shrubs. The picnic place is situated on the Tehri by-pass road. The site is just 3 kilo meters from Mussoorie. People can go to the location by bus or on foot too. The inhabitants and tourist both visit the picnic spot.
