The Chardham circuit in Uttarakhand attracts lakhs of tourists and pilgrims every year. One of the most important destinations in this circuit is Kedarnath, also religiously known as Kedarnathji. During your holidays in the state, you can never afford to miss visiting this holy town. This is one of those religious sites where you will be able to experience Hindu divinity at its best.
Situated at a height of around 3,580 m above sea level, the town of Kedarnath falls in the Garhwal region of the majestic Himalayan ranges. The entire area around the town exudes a devine aura, and it counts for the real pleasure to experience. Kedarnath is surrounded with dense forests of alpine and rhododendron trees. The serenity that this holy town features, is another best thing.
Kedarnath is visited by pilgrims who want to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva, the major deity at this place. However, it's not just the religious sacredness that pulls in tourists in large numbers but also the natural beauty of the town and views of imposing Himalayals that compel travelers to come here and spend some quality time with their family and friends.
While visiting the sacred town of Kedarnathji, you should never forget to be present at the Pooja and Aarti at the temple. When Aarti is performed plenty of tourists gather around to witness this divine moment. Devotees can also be seen taking a holy dip in the divine waters of the Mandakini River.
Finding appropriate accommodation is never a problem in the town. You'll find both cheap dharamshalas as well as private hotels to cater to your loding requirements in the town. During the pilgrimage season, you may face a little difficulty due to large numbers of crowd gathering here.
